Cars per labor hour calculator

How labor went today, and how many people you need each hour for the cars you expect.

Or people × hours each, like 8 × 12.

Optional, for labor cost per car.

Optional, for labor as a share of sales.

How this works

Cars per labor hour = cars washed ÷ labor hours paid. Labor cost per car = labor hours × wage ÷ cars, and labor as a share of sales = labor cost ÷ (cars × average sale).

People needed in an hour = expected cars ÷ the cars per labor hour you aim for, rounded up, never fewer than the fewest people you run with. A shorter last hour (a close at 7:30) needs that share of the hour’s labor. Your target is your own; we don’t suggest one. Breaks and overtime are not part of this estimate.
