Car Wash Cleaning Checklists
Customers judge a wash by its restroom, its lobby and its lot as much as by the car. These cleaning checklists cover the customer areas, the grounds and the backroom where chemicals and tools are kept.
Each one is short enough to run between rushes. Decide how often each area gets done at your site, from every few hours for the restroom to once a week for the backroom, and give each checklist an owner.

Making a cleaning checklist work
- Schedule the restroom and lobby checks by the clock, not "when it looks dirty".
- Keep cleaning chemicals labeled, and follow each product's safety data sheet when cleaning the backroom and disposing of containers.
- Report broken fixtures as a repair instead of cleaning around them.
- End with the question the restroom checklist asks: would you send a customer in right now?
