Onboarding Paths for New Hires
Auto-enroll new hires into a set of courses, each with its own due date.
What Is an Onboarding Path?
An Onboarding Path is a reusable set of published courses, each with its own due date measured from a new hire's start date — assigned all at once and completable in any order. Set it up once and it runs for every future hire — no remembering to assign the same courses each time someone joins.
How Per-Course Due Dates Work
Each course in the path has its own deadline measured from the learner's hire date, so new hires aren't hit with everything on day one. The courses are assigned together and can be completed in any order:
Day 1 -> Welcome & Safety Basics Day 7 -> Tunnel Operations Day 30 -> Customer Service & Complaints
Because the offsets are relative to the hire date, every new hire gets the right deadlines automatically based on when they started.
Auto-Enrollment
An Onboarding Path is tied to a role + location. When a new hire is added who matches that role and location, they are automatically enrolled in every course in the path, with each deadline calculated from their start date. The path keeps working for every future hire without any extra effort.
Building a Path
You create and edit Onboarding Paths in Learn on web (authoring is web-only). New hires take the assigned courses on web or iOS, see them in My Training, and earn certificates as they finish each one.
How It Connects
Publish the courses a new hire needs -> Add them to an Onboarding Path (each course with its own due date) -> Tie the path to a role + location -> New hires auto-enroll on their start date -> Track everything on the compliance dashboard
Tip
Front-load safety and compliance courses with tight due dates, and push role-specific deep dives later in the path so new hires ramp up without feeling overloaded.
