What Are SOPs?
Standard Operating Procedures are step-by-step guides for common tasks. They ensure everyone does things the same way.
Creating an SOP
- Go to SOPs in the sidebar
- Click Add SOP
- Fill in:
- Title — What this procedure covers
- Steps — Numbered instructions
- Photos — Optional but helpful
- Related Equipment — Link to equipment if relevant
Good SOP Examples
- How to clean the tunnel
- How to handle a customer complaint
- How to close the wash at night
- How to change vacuum bags
- Emergency shutdown procedure
Using SOPs for Training
When you hire someone new:
- Assign them to read relevant SOPs
- Have them shadow an experienced employee
- Quiz them on key procedures
- Check off training as complete
How It Connects
SOP: "How to maintain High Pressure Pump" ↓ Links to Equipment: High Pressure Pump ↓ When work order created for pump ↓ Tech can reference the SOP
Tip
Write SOPs as if explaining to someone who's never seen a car wash. Be specific.
